De Bourcier Publishing is an independent British imprint focused on crime, noir, and prestige commercial fiction. We publish original work shaped by character, consequence, and narrative discipline.

Why we exist

De Bourcier Publishing was established to support fiction that sits between the literary and the commercial without diluting either. We work with writers who understand restraint, tension, and the value of leaving space for the reader.

Our focus is not volume, trend-chasing, or rapid release cycles, but the careful development of work with longevity and intent.

What we publish

We publish crime, noir, thrillers, and contemporary fiction where voice and structure matter as much as plot. Our list favours:

• Character-led narratives
• Controlled pacing and tension
• Stories rooted in consequence rather than spectacle

We do not publish formulaic genre output, AI-generated fiction, or work designed primarily for algorithmic optimisation. This clarity protects both the imprint and the reader.

Editorial standards
